Jewellery Assistant Vacancy (Temporary)
Hours: Part time (18+) or Full Time (38+) Work Available. Flexibility and availability to work extra hours as required would be a definite advantage.
Pay: £9.00 per hour
Start: Mid November 2019
We are looking for a friendly, laid-back assistant who is quick to learn and happy to work under their own initiative. The period of employment will be from late November until 23 December 2019, to provide support over the busy Christmas period.
Duties of this role will include making jewellery, preparing packaging materials, monitoring and organising stock, responding to customer enquiries via email, managing orders and packaging up and posting jewellery. This is a varied role and the successful applicant will also be asked to do other ad hoc administrative tasks, so a flexible attitude towards work is essential.
This role is available on either a Full Time or Part Time basis, but applicants MUST be able to commit to an agreed rota for the employment period.
Other essential qualities are reliability, flexibility with regards working hours and a very good standard of written English. This job also involves computer based work and so experience and confidence in this area is essential. Some knowledge of Photoshop would be useful but not essential. A good eye for detail and a neat, thoughtful approach to work is also very important.
An interest in crafts or handiwork is advantageous, but no experience in jewellery making is required as I will provide training on an ongoing basis.
The successful candidate will be working from our studio in Morningside, Edinburgh within a small, friendly team.
Working hours (with a typical shift lasting between 7 and 8 hours) may be assigned any time between 8am and 8pm. Flexibility and willingness to work within this timeframe is essential. Your application will not be considered if you have any holidays during late November or in December.
If you wish to apply, please email your CV, with a covering note telling us a little more about yourself and your interest in this role, to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please include your availability regarding working hours in your covering letter, and confirm that you do not have any holidays planned between your start date and 23rd December 2019.
The closing date for applications is Friday 18 October 2019.
Interviews will be held on either Wednesday 23 October 2019 or Friday 25 October 2019 – please do not apply unless you are available for interview on these dates!
Please note that all candidates must be in possession of a UK bank account, and must be legally eligible to work in the U.K.
